Wallace McKeel is a Louisiana native with an unquenchable passion for good food and drink. She became enthralled with wine and specialty beverage during her years working in restaurants and bottle shops in New Orleans. Eventually, she turned her passion into a career through certification courses and working with wine importers and wholesalers throughout Louisiana. Today, Wallace spends her days exploring, promoting, and educating others on the virtues of good wine and great company.
Wallace began work in wine in several restaurants in Baton Rouge during college. After graduating from Louisiana State University, she moved to New Orleans where she worked for bottle shops and boutique restaurants for several years before venturing into wine and spirits importing and wholesale. She has worked for wine importers and wholesalers since 2012 and has had the fortunate opportunity to learn from several of the greatest winemakers, sommeliers, and wine specialists in the country.
Most recently, she spent the harvest season of 2018 working as a winery intern in Chehalem, Oregon learning the ins and outs of the entire winemaking process.
Wallace attended Louisiana State University where she double-majored in International Affairs and Spanish. She passed the Court of Master Sommeliers Introductory Exam, the Certified Specialist of Wine Exam, and received the Wine and Spirits Education Trust Levels 1 and 2 Awards. Wallace is currently pursuing her Level 3 WSET certification.
