Top Winter Salad Recipes

Just because it's cold outside doesn't mean that you can't enjoy a salad chockful of fresh, crunchy ingredients. Here are six versions that won't disappoint.

    Since the ingredients in this pear salad are so delicious, we don't want a heavy dressing masking the flavors, so a simple lemon and rice vinegar dressing works best. This pear salad can also be served without the cheese on top, and would still be a delicious and light first course.

    This is a "composed" salad, meaning the ingredients are arranged on the salad as opposed to all being tossed together. Originally it was a way for the restaurant to simply use up leftovers, but it soon became the Brown Derby's most popular dish.

    This is a beautiful beet and pear salad recipe. The deeply colored, sliced beets are topped with sweet pears, goat cheese and a simple walnut vinaigrette. This beet and pear salad can be served as a first course, or doubled in size for a main course.
